Wow! It has been a fantastic show!
The last few weeks were quite hectic with preparations and excitement towards the Intersolar Europe exhibition in Munich. As soon as we got there we instantly switched gear from intense behind-the-scenes office work to round-the-clock face to face sessions with new and old customers and friends. We were happy to host thousands of people from over 30 countries at our booth. Unfortunately we were not able to spend as much time as we would have liked with each and every visitor, but I hope that we managed to convey our messages through the numerous presentations, new movies, live demonstrations, and the products we exhibited.
Impressions of our 180 sqm. booth:
We introduced many new products at the show, including the following:
- Power optimizers embedded by module manufacturers into their modules, replacing the traditional junction box
- Higher capacity PowerBoxes – our power optimizers – which can be integrated with crystalline silicon and thin film modules up to 350W
- A wider range of inverters – our present 3.3, 4, 5, 6kW single phase and 10kW three-phase inverters, along with the new 8kW and 12kW three-phase, and in the US also 15kW three-
phase, solar inverters.
- A complete safety solution for the protection of installers, maintenance personnel and firefighters against electrocution and fire (see previous blog and our new movie)
- Anti-theft mechanism for digital immobilization of stolen modules and inverters (see the new cool animation)
- An iPhone monitoring application, extending the availability of our monitoring web portal, enabling troubleshooting and fault detection on the go.
- Several new software tools that make the design and installation of the SolarEdge system even easier than before. These include:
- Site Design Tool - recommends string layout and inverter and PowerBox model, per given
site sizing. Multi-faceted roofs and unequal string length layouts are supported.
- Site Mapping Tool - a Smartphone application that enables fast scanning of the PowerBox and inverter barcodes to create a ‘bird’s-eye-view’ layout of your site at module-level, on the spot. The resulting layout map is uploaded to our monitoring web portal to enhance remote diagnostics.
- Inverter Configuration Tool - enables simple configuration of one or multiple inverters directly from your laptop. The performance of each module is presented as well, so you can verify proper site installation, without manual measurements or internet connectivity.
