Background & Opportunity:

SolarEdge is expanding its global reach with the opening of its Shanghai office, serving the booming photovoltaic industry in China.  SolarEdge’s market-leading product line of embedded optimizers is enabling the new generation of “smart solar modules” with increased energy harvesting, online performance monitoring and enhanced safety and site design features.  With the majority of global leaders in module manufacturing located in China and neighboring countries, SolarEdge is engaged with the  top global PV makers in bringing smart panels to the market.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to serve as the technical coordinator, project manager and hands-on engineer and support the leading PV module companies in integrating power electronics with solar modules.     Technical excellence, innovation, dedication and good customer relations will allow this expert to take a leading position in the smart panel revolution that is shaping out to be the most significant change in the PV industry over the next five years.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and co-execute, hands on, smart panel evaluation and integration projects, covering electronics, software and mechanics.
  • Serve as the technical lead for power electronics integration, for R&D and engineering teams within PV module companies.
  • Work closely with the sales & marketing team to cover all needed technical aspects of market penetrations and successful deal execution.
  • Provide support, problem-solving and training to module makers on all aspects of distributed power electronics, remote connectivity and panel monitoring and PV system design.
  • Identify and define customer-specific need and work with internal departments to provide timely solutions and enhance product portfolio.
  • Work with reliability laboratories and certification bodies to ensure successful testing and certification of smart panels
  • Work with production engineers to implement smart panel production methods into automated and manual production lines
  • Take an active part in achieving sales targets, by creating close relationships with customers, identifying opportunities and supporting the sales team.

 

Requirements:

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in engineering, with preference to electrical engineering
  • Experience and good understanding of power electronics and/or photovoltaic systems
  • 2-5 year experience as a support engineer, project engineer or other customer-facing positions
  • Oriented to world-class service, with a proven track record of good customer relationships
  • An enthusiastic self-learner, independent and proactive, with a passion for solar energy
