Good design always requires a holistic viewpoint. Take a step back, consider all the details from above, and you get a better perspective on how to deal with problems up close. That’s precisely how SolarEdge developed its distributed approach which maximizes Solar PV performance.

SolarEdge Named 2010 AlwaysOn GoingGreen Top 50 Winner

- Selected as Green Technology Innovator for Unique Distributed Solar Power Harvesting and PV Monitoring Solution -

Hod Hasharon, Israel – SolarEdge Technologies, an innovative provider of distributed solar power harvesting and PV monitoring solutions, will be honored today at the GoingGreen East 50 Awards event. The GoingGreen East 50 Award is given to private, emerging companies that are disrupting user behavior and creating new opportunities in green technology.

SolarEdge was selected by the AlwaysOn editorial team in collaboration with KPMG. Hundreds of companies were nominated, from which the top 50 winners were determined, based on criteria including significant innovation, large market potential, noticeable media buzz and awareness, commercialization and substantial customer adoption and ability to create tremendous stakeholder value. SolarEdge is one of the seven winning solar companies.

“The companies who comprise the AlwaysOn GoingGreen East 50 are leading the clean and green tech revolution by combining creativity with practical businesses solutions,” said Tony Perkins, founder and editor of AlwaysOn. “These innovative leaders all have the potential to be ‘the next big thing’ and we are excited to see what the future holds for each of them.”

SolarEdge has a unique and innovative approach to boosting PV system throughput. SolarEdge’s system, which includes a solar inverter, module-level PowerBox™ power optimizers and module-level solar monitoring software, enables bypassing inherent limitations of traditional PV systems without increasing costs. The company attracted $23 million in funding last year, including an investment from GE Energy Financial Services. The company works with industry-leading partners such as BP Solar, Schott Solar and Isofoton, to embed its technology into photovoltaic panels to increase their power output.

“We are honored to be named as a GoingGreen East 50 winner,” said Guy Sella, CEO, Chairman and founder of SolarEdge, who will participate at the Next Generation Solar panel. “Our commitment to enable cost-efficient production of up to 25% more energy from any PV installation is reflected in the prestigious recognition from AlwaysOn for our game-changing approach and technology that is likely to disrupt existing market and entrenched players.

GoingGreen East 50 winners will be honored at the AlwaysOn GoingGreen East Conference to be held March 8-10, 2010, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Boston. Media interested in meeting with SolarEdge at the event should contact Tiffany Archambault at 781-684-0770 or solaredge@schwartz-pr.com

About SolarEdge
SolarEdge provides the world's first end-to-end Distributed Solar Power Harvesting and PV Monitoring Solution, allowing maximum energy production at a lower cost per watt. The company works with industry-leading partners to embed its active electronics directly into PV panels. The SolarEdge PowerBoxes™ are DC-DC power optimizers that perform MPPT per individual panel while monitoring performance of each panel and communicating across existing power lines. Moreover, PowerBoxes always maintain a fixed DC string voltage, allowing optimal efficiency of the SolarEdge PV inverter, which is tailor made to work with power optimizers. As a result, the SolarEdge system provides more power from any given installation, eliminates design constraints, provides complete panel-level and whole-system visibility for monitoring and maintenance alerts, solves all safety hazards and provides anti-theft mechanisms, all while reducing the cost of energy.
