Good design always requires a holistic viewpoint. Take a step back, consider all the details from above, and you get a better perspective on how to deal with problems up close. That’s precisely how SolarEdge developed its distributed approach which maximizes Solar PV performance.

INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS AWARDS HONOR SOLAREDGE AS A EUROPEAN LEADER IN INNOVATION
Hod Hasharon, Israel —July 12, 2010 — SolarEdge Technologies, an innovative provider of distributed solar power harvesting and PV monitoring solutions, was named today a Distinguished Honoree in the category of “the Most Innovative Company of the year in Europe” for 2010, by the International Business Awards.
Honorees were selected from more than 1,700 entries received from organizations and individuals in more than 40 countries. Organizations all over the world are eligible to compete in The International Business Awards, and can enter in any of more than 40 categories from Multinational Company of the Year and Best New Product of the Year to Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year and Executive of the Year. The competition for Most Innovative Company of the Year is consistently hotly contested.
SolarEdge delivers the world’s first end-to-end Distributed Power Harvesting and PV Monitoring solution, providing a unique approach to boosting PV system output. The SolarEdge system allows for an increase in energy of up to 25% from any PV installation, and is comprised of PowerBoxes™, which are per module DC-DC power optimizers, a simplified solar inverter, and module-level solar monitoring software. The PowerBoxes allow for the optimal efficiency of the SolarEdge PV inverter by maintaining a fixed DC string voltage. Furthermore, the PowerBoxes perform MPPT per panel while monitoring the performance of each panel and communicating across existing power lines.
Honorees were determined through two rounds of judging by professionals worldwide.
“Despite the harsh economic climate, entries to the IBAs actually grew a bit this year, and that illustrates the increasing importance of The International Business Awards worldwide,” said Michael Gallagher, president of The Stevie Awards, presenters of the IBAs. “We congratulate all of the honorees, and we look forward to recognizing them for their achievements at our gala awards dinner in Istanbul on 27 September.”
