EnlargeThe SolarEdge Safety & Monitoring Interface allows non-SolarEdge inverters to connect to SolarEdge power optimizers. This provides multiple advantages when adding SolarEdge power optimizers to existing installations and when designing new sites. The SolarEdge Safety & Monitoring Interface collects module performance data measured by each power optimizer, as well as solar PV inverter data, and interfaces with the SolarEdge server to allow module-level and system-wide monitoring.
The SolarEdge Safety & Monitoring Interface is compatible with a wide range of 3rd party inverters, is certified for outdoor installation and is easy to install.
Feature Highlights:
- Module-level MPPT for optimal efficiency
- Module safety voltage for installer and firefighter safety
- Theft prevention
- Web-based and iPhone module performance monitoring
- Communication via RS232, RS485, USB or Ethernet
- IP65 - Outdoor installation

EnlargeThe GSM modem for wireless connectivity, enables a wireless link between a master inverter and the SolarEdge Monitoring Portal using GSM cellular communication.
GSM connectivity allows to effortlessly connect remote installations to the Monitoring Portal. In addition, it allows simplifying installations, making them more reliable – no outdoor cabling protection required, safe – no lightning protection required and aesthetic – no long cables and fixtures.
SolarEdge provides an external GSM/GPRS modem, connecting to the inverter via its serial connector. The product comes pre-configured to work with SolarEdge installations, requiring only local carrier adaptation.
Feature Highlights:
- Connects wirelessly to the Monitoring Portal
- Uses available GSM network
- Easy installation, connects to serial port
- Replaces either RS485 or Ethernet wiring
- External antenna for strong reception
- Global compliance

EnlargeThe Power Reduction interface box enables connection to a Radio Ripple Control Receiver, allowing for remote power limiting in over-capacity scenarios. The device is compliant with the Renewable Energy Sources Act, EEG and with the technical guideline “Generation systems on the medium voltage grid”, BDEW. Compatible with standard RRCR devices with 3-4 relay outputs, the Power Reduction Interface reads the relays’ status and sends the inverters a command to limit their power output to accommodate regional or nationwide power needs.
The device comes pre-configured and ready for work – simply plug it into the RRCR and the RS485 SolarEdge bus. Should non-default configuration be necessary, it is conveniently done via USB using the Inverter Configuration Tool. Installation is possible on a DIN rail or on a wall.
Feature Highlights:
- Compliance with the Renewable Energy Sources Act, EEG and with the technical guideline “Generation systems on the medium voltage grid”, BDEW
- Connects to a standard Ripple Radio Control Receiver
- 4 inputs with GND and VCC reference
- Fully programmable with active power and cos φ
- Connects to any SolarEdge inverter – commands propagate through each inverter on the shared bus
- Plug and play – no configuration required for standard signaling
- Easily configurable via USB using the Inverter Configuration Tool
