SolarEdge Leads in PV Safety with Advanced Features

SolarEdge inverters now compliant with Arc Detection UL 1699B and Austrian OVE Guideline R11-1

Munich, Germany – SolarEdge Technologies, Inc. (“SolarEdge”) (NASDAQ: SEDG), a global leader in PV inverters, power optimizers, and module-level monitoring services, announces expanded safety features for its DC optimized inverter solution that provide advanced personal and property protection. After leading compliance with the German VDE-AR-E 2100-712 standard, SolarEdge inverters now include an arc detection feature that is compliant with the US arc detection standard UL 1699B and meet the requirements of the Austrian OVE Guideline R11-1.

With the new arc detection feature, SolarEdge inverters are designed to identify arc detections and subsequently shut down. The inverter identifies arcs as defined in UL 1699B. By complying with the Austrian OVE Guideline R11-1, SolarEdge’s DC optimized inverter solution is designed to shut down voltage in DC string wires whenever AC power is off.  SolarEdge’s safety features meet these standards and guidelines without the need for structural changes or any additional and costly components, such as fireproof wire, wire duct, or DC firefighter switches, while also simplifying installation.
