Modem Layer - Embedded Software Engineer

Job Description

SolarEdge is a global leader in the Solar industry, manufacturing smart energy solutions that include intelligent inverters and storage systems, revolutionary EV charger, smart energy modules, smart home modules and grid services. By doing that, SolarEdge is changing the way Electricity is being produced and consumed.

The teams develop all the SW in company products and deal with multi-tasks (power conversion algorithmic, communication algorithmic, optimizations, RT problems) and platforms (s, Company’s ASIC, operating systems).

Our technological challenges take part in the following fields: power electronics, digital close loop control and digital signal processing algorithms implemented on the company microprocessors.

The modem engineer will be a part of the PLC team which is responsible for the Modem algorithms and SW development in SolarEdge products.

In this position, the engineer will design and implement physical layer algorithms and higher layers for power line communication (PLC) systems on multiple chips platforms including the company's unique chip.

By joining us, you’ll have the chance to develop unique products from concept level to mass production, while working with advanced simulation and developing tools.


What you will be doing:

  • Be involved in different product aspects like: Simulation, , Phy and Modem layers.
  • Developing on various and dealing with various RT constraints.
  • Ownership of an end-to-end project from concept design and simulation, through development, integration, and field deployment.
  • Building complex simulations integrating SW and HW.


  • B.Sc in Electrical Engineering from leading universities – Must.
  • 3-7 years’ experience in programming from the industry – Must.
  • Proficiency in programming in C – Must
  • Experience with Modem SW development – Advantage.
  • Specialization in DSP - Advantage
  • M.Sc or higher in electrical engineering – advantage.
  • Experience with working with MATLAB.
  • Experience with working in Microcontrollers.
