Job Description

As a Hardware Director, you will be part of a multidiscipline RnD group developing in-house solutions.

SolarEdge's in-house hardware teams play a crucial role in creating new innovative solutions, owning the process from design & development all the way to implementation and deployment.

Our products involve digital and high-power hardware design, mechanical solutions, and software design and development.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate individual to lead a group of hardware engineering teams.

In addition to direct hardware teams management, you will also be accountable for the entire project, overseeing readiness and working directly with different departments such as mechanics, software, and engineering. 

You will also be responsible for instructing, directing, and reviewing the work of the team members.

The ideal candidate is detailed-oriented, well-organized, very good at multi-tasking, and has a passion to share their knowledge. 

Responsibilities:

  • Take a major role as Director of Hardware Development in the Core technologies department.
  • Responsible for four Hardware development teams (Infrastructure and projects).
  • Manage high power & current developments while demonstrating technical leadership.
  • Bring innovative solutions to challenging problems.
  • Diagnose and Improve the performance, scalability, and quality of our platform.
  • Designing and developing high-volume, low-latency solutions for production line testing systems and delivering high availability and performance.
  • Manage, liaise and direct multi-teams to ensure projects goals and requirements are met.
  • Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle.
  • Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.

Requirements:

  • B.Sc. or higher in Electrical Engineering (EE).
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the design of new/cutting edge products.
  • Must have hands-on R&D experience.
  • Previous managing/leading experience.
  • Must have hands-on board design experience.
  • Must have hands-on high power system Design experience.
  • Experience in Analog and/or Power electronics designs (DC/DC topologies design, Analog circuits design, Noise, and Signal integrity concerns, Thermal concerns, Component level designs- not a module integrator).
  • Experience in power layout design – Advantage.
  • A team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Electrical Engineering key concepts are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, responsibly, out of the box thinking.
  • Meticulousness and excellent organizational skills.
  • High skills in English, speaking, and writing.
