The SolarEdge Safety & Monitoring Interface (SMI) provides the full benefits of module-level safety and monitoring for systems using third-party inverters. It collects module performance data measured by each SolarEdge power optimizer and transmits the data to the SolarEdge monitoring server to allow for module-level and system-wide monitoring.
The SMI also activates the power optimizer SafeDC™ feature, for automatic module-level voltage shutdown when there is no grid or inverter power. De-energizing the PV modules to touch-safe levels ensures maximum safety for installers, maintenance workers and firefighters.
Compatible with a wide range of third-party inverters, the SMI is easily installed and is certified for outdoor installation.
