Please find the return instructions here

What if the SolarEdge system I’m upgrading isn’t on my monitoring portal account?

Please submit a site transfer request here: https://www.solaredge.com/aus/site-transfer-request

What are my options for TradeUp when a 5kW phase imbalance restriction exists?

You can now replace an old Residential 3-phase inverter with two new single-phase inverters as part of the TradeUp program. The upgrade will consist of a combination of the following inverters;

  • 1x Home Hub SE5000H-MM inverter and;
  • 1x Genesis SE3000H or SE5000H inverter.

 In line with the current process, we will ship you two replacement inverters equivalent to what you installed on the property.

How do I tell the SolarEdge monitoring portal that I’ve replaced the inverter?

Net Metering on three-phase sites explained

SolarEdge utilises 3-phase net metering which allows single-phase inverters to operate on homes with a 3-phase grid supply and provides the same financial return.

Net metering aggregates the sum of energy flow across all 3 phases into a single measurement value.  The electricity being used, regardless of which phase the solar system is connected to, is subtracted from the amount of solar energy generated to calculate the total import or export amount for home billing, battery charging or offsetting to other loads such as EV Charging or Water Heating.  This means the financial benefits are equivalent for either type of grid supply.

For homes with a single-phase hybrid inverter, battery, and backup on a 3-phase grid supply, there may even be a benefit for selecting this option.  Whilst in backup mode the single-phase hybrid inverter can typically supply its full power output on the phase that it is connected and is potentially more powerful than a 3-phase hybrid inverter could on that same phase, this allows for greater flexibility on which appliances can run in backup mode.
