South Australia Remote Disconnect and Reconnection Agent Nomination (For Non-Flexible Exports Customers)

From 28th September 2020 a new technical standard requires prescribed generating systems connecting to the South Australian distribution network to be capable of being remotely disconnected and reconnected by an agent registered with the Technical Regulator.

This will contribute to increasing the ability of the distribution network to host distributed energy resources and secure operation of the power system.

SolarEdge inverters installed with a SolarEdge Energy Meter already possess the ability to facilitate the Remote Disconnection/Reconnection requirements and can therefore comply with this requirement without the need for third party device. This not only allows your customers to export like they would have been prior to the change in regulation, but also gives them the ability to continue to generate and maximise their self-consumption at their home or business on constrained days.

Customers installing a SolarEdge inverter in South Australia should use SAPN as their agent. SolarEdge is in discussion with other entities looking to register as Relevant Agents. SolarEdge will update this website from time to time as other entities qualify as agents.

Terms and Conditions

General. These Terms and Conditions (the 'Terms') govern your use of the remote disconnection software feature (the "Software") to enable SolarEdge inverters installed with a SolarEdge Energy Meter to facilitate the Remote Disconnection/Reconnection requirements of the South Australian Government Remote Disconnect Reconnection of Electricity Generating Plants.

When a Relevant Agent (as described in the South Australian Government Remote Disconnect Reconnection of Electricity Generating Plants obligations) is directed to remotely disconnect and reconnect the SolarEdge system at the customer site, SolarEdge will send a signal to the site setting the inverter to zero export from the site for the duration of the disconnection notice.

For the avoidance of doubt, you acknowledge and declare that in addition to paying the fees, as described below, you must ensure that your customers (end users who are using SolarEdge products) have: (1) enrolled with a Relevant Agent where SolarEdge is a Technology Provider (see Relevant Agent drop down list in the applicable online form); and (2) installed a SolarEdge compatible Energy Meter with Modbus Connection with current transformer; and (3) are connected to the SolarEdge Monitoring Platform; and (4) been advised by you to ensure internet connectivity with the SolarEdge inverter as part of the operation of the Software; and (5) been advised by you about the regulatory change in the South Australian Government regulation regarding Remote Disconnect /Reconnection obligations, the purpose of this Software and its implications in connection to such new regulatory requirements.

Grant of Rights. Subject to your compliance with the Terms, SolarEdge grants you a perpetual license to use the Software in order to allow your customers remote connection/reconnection capabilities with respect to SolarEdge inverters installed with a SolarEdge Energy Meter. All of the rights to use the Software are expressly stated herein and there are no implied rights. For clarity, the use of the Software is perpetual as long as the applicable SolarEdge product is operational and under warranty.

Fees. In consideration for use of Software, you shall pay SolarEdge Technologies LTD a one-time non‑refundable fee of AUD $0 per each serial number registered in SolarEdge website – [add link] (the "Fee").
