Optimised Energy. EVERYWHERE. Some Great Highlights from SolarEdge at Intersolar 2023
Intersolar was back this year, bigger and better than ever! As the world’s largest PV industry event, this was the perfect opportunity to show off our new innovations and connect face-to-face with our valued customers. One thing that never stopped was the number of people flowing through our booth. With over 100,000 visitors packed into the show over three days, Intersolar was chock-full of meetings with PV professionals and press, new product launches, insightful booth tours, and so much more.
Our theme this year was “Optimized Energy. EVERYWHERE.” This concept not only speaks to the advantages of SolarEdge’s DC-coupled architecture which maximises energy production and storage, but also to our new residential, commercial and utility solutions designed to give system owners more control over their energy consumption and savings.
Experiencing Our Solutions
To showcase our new hardware and software products, including our new game-changing approach to energy management, we hosted booth tours each day of our latest residential, commercial, and utility solutions. For the first time ever, we presented a “Meet our Experts” learning fair, featuring 10 different stands of SolarEdge professionals from our product management and R&D teams where installers could come speak to them directly, share their stories, and take a deep dive into the technology and experience behind each product.
We also had a solar bar, social media wall, and a "Wheel of Power” opportunity for visitors to answer questions for the chance to win a drone!

Here are some of our biggest announcements from this year’s event...
SolarEdge ONE: With homeowners all over the world, especially in Europe, feeling the pressure over losing control of their energy bills, our new SolarEdge ONE energy operating system automatically manages the home’s power in real time, to maximise savings all day, every day. ONE knows the best time to import or export to the grid, to charge or discharge the battery, and to make sure electricity stays on longer during an outage. In markets such as the Netherlands for example, consumers with dynamic electricity plans can save up to 75% of their annual energy bill when adding the SolarEdge Home Battery + ONE to an existing SolarEdge PV site.
Bi-directional DC - EV Charger: Another exciting highlight was the unveiling of our bi-directional DC-coupled EV charger. It supports both Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) functionalities, so homeowners can use their EVs to power their home during a grid outage, or export energy to the grid from the EV battery when demand is high. The bi-directional charger is also capable of fast charging up to 24 kW by drawing electricity from solar power, home battery, and grid. It’s expected to be commercially available in the second half of 2024.
Heat-Pump integration with Vaillant: Vaillant heat pumps are now integrated with the SolarEdge Home ecosystem!
That means homeowners can further optimise their energy consumption by using their own solar power for heating.
They can also decide to shift their heating consumption according to optimal energy rates – including controlling home temperatures through the mySolarEdge app.
Samsung SmartThings: SolarEdge Home can now be integrated with Samsung SmartThings, offering users innovative ways to easily optimise their energy consumption and reduce energy bills. This means that our ecosystem will now fully integrate with Samsung’s lineup of smart energy technologies, including heat pumps, which will allow users to better understand the impact of their appliances on household energy consumption.
Commercial Battery Solution: Designed for small- and medium-size commercial installations, the new SolarEdge Commercial Storage System (CSS) provides 58kWh of battery capacity to expand our powerful PV offering for business owners. With the ability to connect up to eight batteries per inverter in indoor installations, it will deliver up to 460kWh of storage capacity and offer the ability to synchronise solar battery and site-level energy management.
New Power Optimizers:
- For the C&I segment, we’ve introduced the S1400 Power Optimizer for high-input, bifacial, and high-power 700W modules. The increased output current allows the PV system to be designed with fewer, yet more powerful strings, resulting in a typical ~30% reduction in DC BoS costs. Small and lightweight, the S1400 also provides greater design flexibility in challenging spaces and enhanced ease of installation.
- In the residential segment, we launched the S500A Power Optimizer for short strings. This new Power Optimizer allows for a cost-efficient design of smaller rooftop systems with higher power modules which are in demand across Europe. The S500A can be used on systems with as few as six modules using the SolarEdge Home Short String Three Phase Inverter and the SolarEdge Home Single Phase Wave/Hub Inverter, or 10 modules using any SolarEdge residential Three Phase Inverter.
Commercial EV Charging Management Solution Powered by WEVO: This exciting new software manages solar-attached EV charging facilities in the Commercial and Industrial sectors such as apartments, workplaces, public charging locations, and other projects that require dynamic load management. By integrating with SolarEdge ONE, WEVO orchestrates and optimises interactions between facility solar generation, stationary battery storage and large-scale EV charging, taking into account grid and infrastructure limitations.
