SolarEdge inverters are designed for safety

SolarEdge inverters are designed for safety.

  • Traditional inverter disconnect switches terminate current between roof and inverter, leaving modules and cabling energized during daylight. However, when SolarEdge inverters are off, Power Optimizers reduce module voltage to a touch-safe 1V.

  • SolarEdge inverters are designed to identify arcs and shut down, in compliance with the UL1699B arc detection standard. Traditional inverters may require third-party detectors, potentially adding cost, without compliance certainty.
