Firefighter Gateway Solution

Firefighter Gateway Solution

Integrated within the ONE Controller for C&I device, the Firefighter Gateway solution ensures centralized safety management of SolarEdge PV systems. This enables emergency responders to safely shut down PV production and ensure touch-safe DC voltage levels during critical events.

Key Benefits:

  • Enhanced PV site safety for emergency services
  • Provides real-time, visible confirmation of system voltage and site status for safety assurance
  • Supports safety compliance and satisfies insurance requirements through automated or manual DC shutdown
  • Easily installed for new or existing SolarEdge PV systems, with quick onsite commissioning via SolarEdge Go
  • Seamlessly integrates into the SolarEdge ONE for C&I platform, sending notifications on system shutdown

Maximizing PV site safety

Wherever the ONE Controller with C&I’s Firefighter Gateway solution is in operation, firefighters can immediately stop production of a SolarEdge PV system, either manually through an emergency stop button* or automatically through a fire alarm control panel system. This automatically reduces string voltage to a safe voltage using the unique SolarEdge SafeDC™ feature.

Clear visual confirmation that high DC voltage has been safely reduced is also possible via an optional external display*.

Maximum flexibility with two modes of operation

  • In Manual Mode, the system can be manually shut down in non-emergency situations using a locally supplied emergency stop button
  • In Automatic Mode, shutdown occurs automatically when the fire alarm control panel is triggered.
No external interaction is required. Once activated, the Firefighter Gateway solution signals to the ONE for C&I software platform that the PV system has been shut down, and an alert will be generated.
