Firmware Release Notes - Commercial Storage

Latest Firmware Release: CSS-OD 197 CR2.2197I

Release Date: September 2026

This release bundles the following firmware versions for the CSS-OD 197 and ONE Controller for C&I products:

  • CSS-OD 197: CR2.2197I with ONE Controller 1.7.9. This is the official software version release, replacing the previously approved CR2.2197C / ONE Controller 1.6.23.

The CSS-OD firmware upgrade will be performed remotely in coordination with SolarEdge Support teams.

Note: Not every CSS-OD model is available in all countries. Contact your local SolarEdge salesperson for more information on CSS-OD battery availability.

New Features and Enhancements

Firefighter Gateway (FFG) Battery Shutdown

  • Enhanced FFG shutdown functionality: CSS-OD internal PCS relays are now automatically disconnected when the site enters FFG shutdown mode
  • Provides both manual and automatic shutdown capabilities, with clear visual confirmation of system status

Remote Firmware Update

Remote Firmware Upgrade capability is now supported for CSS-OD 107, CSS-OD 197, and CSS-OD 102 systems.

    This release bundles the following firmware versions for the CSS-OD and ONE Controller for C&I products:

    • CSS-OD 107: vCR2.2_BU_E with ONE Controller 1.7.9. This is the official software version release for CSS-OD 107 systems with 50/30 kW battery inverters operating in On-Grid mode 
    • CSS-OD 102: vCR2.2V with ONE Controller 1.7.9. 

    The CSS-OD firmware upgrade will be performed remotely in coordination with SolarEdge Support teams.

    This release bundles the following firmware versions for the CSS-OD and ONE Controller for C&I products:  

    • CSS-OD 102: vCR2.2S with ONE Controller v1.6.23
    • CSS-OD 197: vCR197C with ONE Controller v1.6.23

    Several new features are included in this release, designed to improve battery commissioning, performance and functionality.

    New Features and Enhancements

    CSS-OD:

    • CSS-OD batteries now support Modbus protocol, meeting national regulations in several countries, primarily in Italy
    • Mixed CSS-OD deployments are now supported, enabling installation of both CSS-OD 102 and CSS-OD 197 systems within the same site

    ONE Controller for C&I:

    All CSS-OD models are now supported by the ONE Controller i.e. CSS-OD 90, 102, 107 and 197.
