Verifying the Correct Firmware Version

These firmware versions were released to SetApp packages in September 2022 for all SolarEdge SetApp-enabled devices. To verify the version is updated on the device after the upgrade process, use SetApp to connect to the device, and verify the firmware versions match the tables above (or show higher versions).

Improvements included in this version will apply only after the version is updated on the device. This requires connecting to the device's Wi-Fi and upgrading the firmware.

Release Notes

New Features & Enhancements

  • SE8000H & SE10000H inverters now support SolarEdge Home Battery High Voltage
  • S-series optimizers now supports “SolarEdge Sense Connect” for detecting abnormal temperatures on optimizer’s connectors. Such a detection locks production accordingly for increased safety
  • SolarEdge Home Network now supports also South Africa
  • Modbus TCP over secured Wi-Fi is now officially supported for residential inverters
    • Modbus TCP over unsecured Wi-Fi is blocked
    • Modbus TCP over Wi-Fi for commercial inverters is blocked
    • Note: Modbus TCP over Ethernet and Modbus TCP over RS485 for all inverters are supported
  • New country grids:
    • Korea New DC Voltage (201)
    • Uruguay Delta (202)
  • Changed country grids:
    • Removed Japan Auto (25)

Resolved issues

  • Inline meter displayed apparent current instead of active current in the Meter Status screen
  • SolarEdge Home Battery High Voltage connected via RS485 to inverter was detected only after inverter AC cycle
  • Modbus TCP over WiFi refused connection
  • Consumption power was incorrect for Inline meter connected via RS485 and configured to measure consumption.
  • In some cases, firmware upgrade may have failed
  • In some cases, SolarEdge Home battery upgrade failed
  • In some cases, ‘Error 3x6B: Battery Communication Error’ may have appeared for a moment when adding the SolarEdge Home Battery or during normal battery operation
  • In rare cases, the associated Energy Net device may have appeared under ‘Available Devices’ instead of ‘Installed Devices’ in SetApp (display issue)

Known Issues

  • For the grid in Italy - Grid protection setpoint Vgrid max #2 is not displayed correctly after setting it via SetApp
    • Display only issue, the trip works correctly
Workaround: Set both Vgrid max #2 and Vgrid max #5 to the same value (typically 400)
  • In some cases, the battery error LED may light when turning on the battery
    Workaround: Reset the battery
  • In multiple battery configuration, if one battery fails DC association following batteries will fail as well
Workaround: solve the DC association failure cause and re-associate
  • In some cases, SolarEdge Home battery upgrade fails when the battery is in Power Save Mode.
    Workaround: Perform the upgrade again
  • In rare cases, SetApp may show incorrect battery power or energy
  • When the battery SoE reaches 100%, it may discharge by a few percent before starting to charge again
  • SolarEdge Home Battery firmware upgrade (from SMCU version <1.0.26) over RS485 may take ~1 hour
  • Switching from Energy Net to RS485 requires removal of the Energy Net module from the inverter and inverter’s AC cycle
  • Energy Net module swapping to a different inverter requires support assistance
  • When MSC configured, battery charge/discharge display may change – display issue
  • When replacing inverter and associating the existing batteries on site, sometimes the batteries may appear as (0)
Workaround: re-associating the inverter and batteries fixes this issue
  • Resetting Synergy 120k inverter during Pre-Commissioning when solar-powered and a power-bank is not connected shuts down the system

Release Notes

New Features & Enhancements

  • S-series optimizers now support “SolarEdge Sense Connect” and can detect abnormal temperatures on the optimizer’s connectors when connected to a single-phase SetApp-enabled inverter. Such a detection stops and locks production accordingly.
  • The Three Phase StorEdge inverter now supports LG RESU 12 batteries with the following configuration:
    • Single battery connected directly to the inverter
    • 2 batteries connected to the inverter via the LG RESU Plus Box
  • SolarEdge Home Hub inverters (SExxxxH-AUSNBBX14) up-to 10kW now support on-grid and backup with following batteries:
    • Direct connection of up to two SolarEdge Home Batteries
    • Connection of three SolarEdge Home batteries via Combiner box (pending availability)
    • Supports connection of up to two LG Prime batteries via a Combiner box (pending availability)
*Note: Backup support is pending BUI availability
  • SolarEdge Home Batteries parallel firmware upgrade via SolarEdge Home Network for reduced upgrade time is now supported by SolarEdge Home Hub inverters.
  • SetApp now supports Hindi.
  • Standby status will always be displayed when configured to standby
    • Also, when battery is charging from DC or AC status will be displayed as standby
when battery is charging from DC or AC status will be displayed as standby

  • USB relay support for VDE signaling
  • Split-phase support added SunSpec.
  • New country grids:
    • Pakistan (197)
    • Pakistan MV (198)
    • Hong Kong CLP (199)
    • Taiwan 440 (200)

Resolved Issues

  • In rare cases, the communication board switches from the external to the internal Wi-Fi antenna.
  • When two batteries are configured, after removing one battery, SetApp may still display both batteries.

Known Issues

  • For the grid in Italy - Grid protection setpoint Vgrid max #2 is not displayed correctly after setting it via SetApp
    • Display only issue, the trip works correctly
  • Consumption power is incorrect for the Inline meter connected via RS485 and configured to measure consumption.
    • Note: Consumption energy data in the Monitoring platform and in mySolarEdge is correct; Consumption power measurements works ok when the Inline meter is connected via SolarEdge Home Network.
