Verifying the Correct Firmware Version

These firmware versions were released to SetApp packages in November 2021 for all SolarEdge SetApp- enabled devices. To verify the version is updated on the device after the upgrade process, use SetApp to connect to the device, and verify the firmware versions match the tables above (or show higher versions).
Improvements included in this version will apply only after the version is updated on the device. This requires connecting to the device's Wi-Fi and upgrading the firmware.

Release Notes

New Features & Enhancements

  • SolarEdge Energy Bank supports on-grid configurations with the Single Phase Inverter with HD-Wave Technology and StorEdge Single Phase Inverter with HD-Wave Technology
  • SolarEdge Energy Bank supports full charge/discharge from 100% SoE to 0% SoE
  • Ability to charge/discharge multiple batteries simultaneously during on-grid applications now supported
  • All inverter types now supported by the Telit LTE modem
  • DC/AC SPD kit menus are available for Synergy technology inverters
  • Automatic RF settings available for SolarEdge Energy Net, according to the installation country
  • Inverter production, external production, and site production functions are now supported by the SolarEdge Inline Three Phase Energy Meter. Export-Import (E+I) and Consumption are supported from previous versions
  • New country grids:
    •    Japan 210V/50Hz (192)
    •    Japan 210V/60Hz (193)
    •    Slovenia MV (194)
    •    Poland NC RFG (195)
    •    Korea Low DC FGrid2 (196)
  • Modified country grids:
    •    Hong Kong grid (175) - Enable Grid Protection settings
    •    All Japan grid codes:
       •    Active Power limit view only in the menu
       •    Active Current Limit do NOT display
       •    Lock on Trip option available

Resolved issues

  • Communication between inverter and battery via RS485 only supported one battery
  • The SoE may have been inaccurate during the first days after battery installation
  • In rare cases, cellular connection may not have worked
Workaround: Inverter AC cycle may resolve this
  • Self-test has completed but is shown as if it was not run
    Workaround: re-run the self-test
  • SolarEdge Energy Bank visibility in the Monitoring Platform dashboard and Charts screens may be delayed following battery discovery on site
Workaround: In SetApp, tap ‘Disconnect from device’ to speed up the time until it’s displayed
Note: it’s acceptable to reconnect to the inverter immediately after disconnecting
  • Self-test failed with multiple batteries

Known Issues

  • In some cases, the BMS upgrade fails. Please perform the upgrade again
  • In some cases, ‘Error 3x6B: Battery Communication Error’ may appear for a moment when adding the SolarEdge Energy Bank or during normal battery operation
  • In rare cases, the associated SolarEdge Energy Bank may appear under ‘Available Devices’ instead of ‘Installed Devices’ in SetApp (display issue)
Workaround: disconnect and then reconnect SetApp to the inverter
  • In rare cases, ‘Full pack available energy’ is displayed as 0 in the Monitoring Platform
  • In rare cases, SetApp may show incorrect battery power or energy
  • When the battery SoE reaches 100%, it may discharge by a few percent before starting to charge again
  • SolarEdge Energy Bank firmware upgrade (from SMCU version <1.0.25) over RS485 may take ~1 hour
  • Battery nameplate capacity may display an incorrect value other than 9.7kWh
  • In rare cases, when installing dual batteries with different firmware versions, both batteries may be upgraded while only one of the batteries require an upgrade
  • When two batteries are configured, after removing one battery, SetApp may still display both batteries
    Workaround: AC cycle the inverter
  • Switching from Energy Net to RS485 requires removal of the Energy Net module from the inverter and inverter’s AC cycle
  • Energy Net module swapping to a different inverter requires support assistance
  • When MSC is configured, the charge/discharge status may display the wrong status
  • When replacing an inverter and associating the existing batteries on site, sometimes the batteries may appear as (0)
Workaround: re-associating the inverter and batteries fixes this issue
  • Three Phase Inverter with Synergy Technology up to 120kW:
Resetting the inverter during the Pre-Commissioning process when the inverter is powered by solar and not via the power bank will shut down the system
  • Inline Three Phase Energy Meter:
In case the meter is connected via RS485 and the Meter Function is set to Consumption, the Status Screen will not show the correct power values
Workaround: Swap the AC Grid connection settings from Top to Bottom or vice versa
