Firmware Updates- Residential
Version Date - December 2022
Firmware for all SetApp-enabled inverters as well as supported devices and batteries was released in December 2022. Here are the details:
Inverter Firmware
The CPU version for all SetApp-enabled inverters (except for Three-Phase StorEdge inverters) is 4.17.46. The CPU version for Three-Phase StorEdge inverters in 4.16.122.
1 Release Notes (4.17.46)
1.1 New Features & Enhancements
- Storage and Backup
- Battery commissioning wizard for SolarEdge Home Battery 400V via SolarEdge Home Network
- The wizard includes step by step multi-inverter multi-battery association, upgrade, configurations, testing, and backup settings (Backup enable and Backup Reserve level)
- SolarEdge Home Backup Interface (BUI) added to the Device Manager screen with following capabilities:
- Auto discover the BUI
- Add BUI device page with More info page and Remove device button
- No Communication troubleshooting page (if communication with the BUI is lost)
- Disable Backup menus when BUI is removed
- SolarEdge Home Hub 1ph inverters with SolarEdge Home Battery 400V and SolarEdge Home Backup Interface support AC coupling with SolarEdge Home Wave inverters with PV
- The battery charges from the PV only inverter solar production both in on-grid and off-grid
- This system configuration requires enabling Grid Charge
- When configured to MSC, all battery charging is done from the PV inverter and only intermittent maintenance charge is done from the grid
- Known limitation: in backup, when load <250W, the battery stops charging from the PV inverter
- Safety
- Improved SolarEdge Sense Connect performance
- Communications
- SolarEdge Home Network link quality analysis and channel selection
- Add Wi-Fi channels 12-13 support
- Display inverter’s Wi-Fi client IP when connected to Monitoring via Wi-Fi router
- Grid & Power Control
- P(f) mode 7 UI updated:

Frequency Ride Through (FRT) UI update:
- Enable selecting the FRT mode
- Showing FRT-K factor only for FRT modes 1 & 5

- (Australia only) Hide all AUS except for AS4777:2020 grid codes
- (Japan Only) AC Socket Over Voltage and Under Voltage settings view and edit enabled for SE5500H-JPJ with AC-Socket

3 Release Notes (4.16.122 for 3ph StorEdge)
3.1 New Features & Enhancements
- Support up to 5 battery modules
- Add lock state to SolarEdge Home Battery 48V in case of extreme measurements and manually release from lock
- Support multi-inverter and AC coupled installations
- Remove "Communication Enhancement" menu item
3.2 Known issues and limitations
- On AC coupled systems – mode 1 and 2 won’t work and should not be configured
- In case there is communication problem between battery modules:
- Battery is functioning as expected – no implication to end user
- Self-test will pass
- Alert to installer is not implemented
- “Export limit = 0” (AKA SL0) won’t work on AC coupled systems
- Implication on end user – excess PV won’t charge the battery
- On monitoring: Energy decrease while battery is charging
- No effect on end user – just wrong presentation on monitoring
- On low SoC, there are un-necessary force charge events
- Occurs on less than 0.5% of installations
- Implication on homeowner – No implications
- DCDC upgrade may fail when a meter (models below) is connected. In case it fails to upgrade, there is a need to disconnect the meter, upgrade the DCDC again and then reconnect the meter
- On Wattnode meter – always
- On other meters – very rare, less than 0.1%
- Battery module on follower inverter will charge/discharge even when communication loss with Master
- Inverter works independently and not as a whole site Msc
3.3 Resolved issues
- Sub Giga bug was fixed, no need to change param 430 after installation
- Part number and manufacturer fix on monitoring
- DCDC and BMS upgrade issues
- 5th and 4th module upgrade issues
- Battery stops charging at 70%
- CB trip issues
- Sites with stuck packets
- Derating power at Max SoE
