Power optimiser Residential

SolarEdge Power Optimisers — trusted across Australia

Maximise the amount of energy each solar module produces and mitigate all types of module mismatch-loss, from manufacturing tolerance to partial shading and aging.

S-Series Power Optimisers

Our most advanced Power Optimiser yet

Our latest generation S- Series Power Optimisers are ideal for the conditions found all over Australia and offer advanced safety, simplified wiring and smart remote monitoring, while continuing to;

  • Boost panel-level production with DC optimisation, despite shading or debris
  • Experience 100% system visibility with panel-level monitoring
  • Support higher wattage panels with less clipping for maximum power density

SolarEdge DC-Optimised Technology

  • Generate more power from each module and overcome shading
  • Avoid module-level power clipping to produce more power
  • Monitor the power from every panel in the mySolarEdge app

Microinverter Technology Clipping

  • No DC power optimisation, means less power when panels are shaded
  • Clip power at the panel level resulting in lost power and lower efficiency

How do our Power Optimisers work?

A solar panel power optimiser is a crucial component any solar energy system, designed to enhance the efficiency and performance of each solar panel. Unlike systems where panels are linked in a series and one underperforming panel can impact the entire array, power optimisers allow each panel to function independently. This independence is particularly beneficial in situations where some panels might be shaded, dirty, or oriented differently than the rest of the array.

Solar optimisers are attached to each solar panel, converting the DC electricity generated by the panel to an optimised voltage and current. This optimised DC power is then sent to the central inverter for conversion to AC power, which can be used by homes or fed back into the grid. By ensuring each panel operates at its maximum power point, power optimisers increase energy harvest and system efficiency.

SolarEdge Power Optimisers feature market-leading technologies such as module-level optimisation, which avoids loss of energy through clipping, and SafeDC™, which lowers the DC voltage to a safe level when the inverter or grid power is shut down, significantly reducing the risk of electrical hazards during maintenance or emergencies. Safety Optimised

Superior Safety

SolarEdge Sense Connect is an industry-first innovation that identifies abnormal thermal events in the Power Optimiser connector to prevent electric arcs from forming.

  • Identifies an imminent arc threat and stops the power flow
  • Inverter switches the system to safe mode and reduces voltage
  • Faulty connector location is visible in the system layout on the Monitoring Platform
  • Event notification is sent via SetApp and our Monitoring Platform
