Battery Optimizer: Keep performance at its best
With a built-in Battery Optimizer, each Battery Block is managed independently for higher efficiency, and longer system life.
Activating only one Block at a time to preserve battery power:
-
Improved thermal management.
-
Always ON: Battery continues operating even if there’s a faulty Battery Block
-
Mix “old” and “new” Blocks with automatic recalibration.
Reliable power source for the extreme
Built to last, the Battery provides robust protection even in extreme weather conditions for complete peace of mind.
Dust-tight and watertight, it operates efficiently at extreme temperatures. Additionally, it is equipped with advanced heating films for superior performance in cold environments.
-
-4º to +131ºF
Reliable performance from freezing winters to hot summers -
Whisper-quiet operation
<40 nominal to <50 extreme condition dbBA -
Flood resistant up to 18" for 72 hours
Not all batteries offer the same protection
With multi-layer protection for fire and electrical risks, the Battery is engineered to keep systems running and homes safe.
Cell Chemistry
Composed of premium Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells offering enhanced safety and longer cycle life, designed to outperform other battery chemistries.
Cell-level protection
SolarEdge ThermoShield™ technology is designed to protect each LFP cell, preventing cell-to-cell thermal runaway, meeting the UL 9540A standard.
Block-level protection
An integrated array of multi-point temp. sensors that continuously monitor and mitigate overheating per Battery Block. “Always-On” design keeps the battery running even if one Block stops.
Battery Stack-level protection
Offers thermal runaway propagation resistance, dust-tight and watertight, it operates reliably from -4º to +131ºF. Equipped with advanced heating films for enhanced performance in cold environments.

FAQs
What is the SolarEdge Nexis System?
SolarEdge Nexis is the next generation, residential PV plus storage solution by SolarEdge, built for single phase homes. It combines a single 3.8-13 kW inverter with a modular Nexis Battery for high performance, fast installations, and multi layered safety. It’s designed for new systems or retrofits and for indoor/outdoor installations.
How much power can SolarEdge Nexis deliver?
The Inverter provides 3.8-13 kW per a single inverter, and the Battery provides 5-20 kWh per Battery Stack.
What’s the difference between a “Block” and a “Stack” in the SolarEdge Nexis Battery storage system?
A Block refers to a single modular battery unit of 5 kWh capacity. A Stack is a set of 1-4 Blocks assembled to deliver higher energy and power of up to 20 kWh (5 kWh × 4) per Stack, per one SolarEdge Nexis Inverter.
How does SolarEdge Nexis Battery help with dynamic tariffs?
Battery modes in mySolarEdge app can respond to Time of Use and dynamic rates, charging/discharging to improve savings and backup readiness. Availability varies by country/tariff.
Is it necessary to add the SolarEdge Nexis IslandDER™ to support full-home backup with SolarEdge Nexis?
Yes. Add SolarEdge Nexis IslandDER™ to support up to 14.5 kW full home backup during an outage**.
What safety features are built in (fire, electrical)?
SolarEdge Nexis Inverter includes AFCI arc fault protection, SafeDC™, rapid voltage shutdown, remote system shutdown, and SolarEdge Sense Connect at the Power Optimizer connector level. SolarEdge Nexis Battery integrates cell-level, Block-level and Stack-level protections including the SolarEdge ThermoShield™ technology for enhanced battery protection.
How is SolarEdge Nexis cybersecurity handled?
SolarEdge systems are equipped with built-in cybersecurity features ensuring compliance with industry standards. Additional information can be found on the product datasheet.
What simplifies installation in the field?
Installers benefit from: One inverter part number covering 3.8-13 kW, intuitive wiring without opening the inverter cover in a standard installation, and SolarEdge Go for site setup and remote services to reduce time on site. SolarEdge Nexis Battery installation and assembly is done quickly and easily with the Simple-Click™ architecture, stacking the Battery Blocks effortlessly and securely.
Can the inverter and battery be installed indoors or outdoors?
Yes. SolarEdge Nexis hardware is designed for indoor or outdoor installation. Verify local installation rules and ventilation clearances.
How does the Battery perform in harsh weather and cold climates?
