Kässbohrer selected the SolarEdge solution because it maximizes energy output while addressing several requirements, such as:

  1. Meeting Kässbohrer's very high safety standards to safeguard structural integrity and safety of the employees, facility, and machinery
  2. Integration of an existing energy management system and third-party components,
  3. Adapt electrical generators for self-consumption
  4. Conform to strict local network operator requirements for reactive power control

SolarEdge’s smart safety features comply with the most stringent international safety standards. These features include SafeDCTM that automatically shuts down power to touch-safe levels in the event of an emergency, a firefighter gateway added to the factory’s existing alarm system, and arc-fault detection and interruption feature.

The SolarEdge system provides energy for the factory to power intensive machinery, such as the paint system, ventilation system, and warehouse robots. The installation is also fully integrated into the control center of the grid operator. This enables the grid operator to remotely adjust power output according to current demand on the grid in order to achieve grid stability.
