By enrolling your SolarEdge Home Battery in the Orange & Rockland Utilities Smart Savers Battery Program, you can earn performance-based incentives while helping strengthen New York’s electric grid.
During periods of high electricity demand, Orange & Rockland Utilities may call on participating batteries to discharge stored energy to the grid. You are rewarded based on the kilowatts your system delivers during these events.
Customers in Orange & Rockland Utilities service territories may be eligible for two types of incentives:
Rebates
Homeowners may qualify for the NYSERDA Residential Energy Storage Incentive, offering up to $200 per kWh installed, depending on eligibility and funding availability. This program is available for new battery installations only.
Performance Incentive
During the program season (May 1 – September 30), enrolled customers can earn up to $50 per kW, based on the average kilowatt output delivered by their battery system across all dispatch events during the season.
Incentive amounts vary depending on system size and performance.
Example: A system delivering an average of 4 kW during events could earn up to $200 per season (4 kW × $50).

Eligible homeowners can enroll through the designated enrollment process. Participation is confirmed once your application is approved.
Yes. Customers are notified prior to dispatch events.
There may be up to 15 events per year during the program season. Most events last approximately three hours.
Yes. Participants may have the option to opt out of specific events while remaining enrolled.
Customers may choose to unenroll according to program terms and conditions.
