How the Program Works
PowerPairSM Incentive
Qualifying installations are eligible for the following one-time incentives:
- $0.36/watt-AC for solar installations up to 10kW AC.
- $400/kWh for battery storage installations up to 13.5 kWh.
- In total, homeowners may be eligible for up to $9,000 in one-time incentives.
- Enrollments are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Installations must be performed by a member of Duke Energy’s Trade Ally network. Learn more about becoming a trade ally here.

What can I expect after enrolling?
Duke Energy will confirm your eligibility. You will be notified once your enrollment is accepted, including a test for connectivity. If eligible - You will receive monthly bill credits for continuing to meet program requirements, including internet connectivity and participating in events.
Will I be notified of events?
Yes.
How do I opt-out of an event? What are the consequences?
- You will be notified via email of upcoming events and will have the opportunity to opt out of individual events via a link provided in the email.
- Your eligibility and participation in the program may be evaluated if you opt-out of more than four events in a calendar year.
What data is collected by Duke Energy?
Battery usage and telemetry data will be provided via Partner to Duke Energy for the purpose of evaluating battery usage. You as a customer don’t need to do anything to enable this – just sit back and enjoy the benefits of solar and battery storage.
How will I get paid?
- A bill credit will be applied to your monthly utility bill, beginning your next bill cycle following enrollment approval.
- Customers will begin receiving bill credits for participation in the program on the next bill cycle following enrollment. The enrollment process may require 30 days for completion, and at this time is likely to include a test for connectivity to the battery.
