TOKYO, JAPAN – SolarEdge Technologies, Inc. (“SolarEdge”) (NASDAQ: SEDG), a global leader in PV inverters, power optimizers, and module-level monitoring services, is presenting its award-winning, single-phase HD-Wave inverter at PV Expo Osaka 2017.
Now available for the Japanese commercial market, the SolarEdge HD-Wave inverter represents one of the most significant leaps in solar technology in the past twenty years. Achieving a record-breaking weighted efficiency of 99%, SolarEdge’s HD-Wave inverter uses a novel power conversion topology that significantly decreases inverter size and weight. The distributed switching and advanced digital processing synthesizes a clean, high-definition sine wave. This decreases heat dissipation by less than half, and thus requires sixteen times less magnetics and two-and-a-half times less cooling components than previous generations of SolarEdge inverters, which were already among the smallest in the market. The 5.5kW HD-Wave inverter has a volume of 14.7L and weighs 11.9kg.
